TITLE: Development Associate (Sales and Marketing) (Part Time, Commission only)

The Cooperative Education & Internship Association (CEIA), the leader in work-integrated learning, provides a supportive, non-profit, member-driven learning community for participating programs, students, educators and employers; influences policy makers and leaders of thought; and forges partnerships with like-minded groups. The membership of CEIA represents the diversity of the experiential education field, including schools and companies with all sizes and structures of experiential programs.
The ideal candidate will:
Report to the Board of Directors as requested; be responsible for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship with primary emphasis on securing individual and/or corporate gifts in support of the initiatives of the Board - specifically the annual conference, its professional Journal of Cooperative Education and Internships, the National Academy for Work Integrated Learning (NAWIL), and Experience magazine.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experienced self-starter with intellectual curiosity; self-disciplined and highly organized; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; must be creative, proactive and confident; ability to deal effectively and politely with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Must have the ability to evaluate problems and display sound, and confidential judgment; tenacious, results-oriented work ethic with the ability to listen, influence, and persuade others.
Must be able to relate well and understand the needs of individuals and/or corporate gift prospects in order to develop relationships between them and CEIA. Ability to initiate, follow-through, analyze, monitor, and evaluate prospects for qualification, cultivation, and solicitation. An interest in experiential [work-integrated] learning and a personal belief in promoting the mission, vision, and values of CEIA required; understanding of fundraising principles and practices; professionalism; experience in sales, marketing, fundraising/friend-raising, development, and/or advancement. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary: Commission Only
Contract year: 12 Months
